LANDThe Confederation Bridge
A 13-kilometre engineering marvel, the Confederation Bridge is a very quick, convenient and dramatic way to arrive or depart the Island. Connecting from New Brunswick. The Bridge is open 24 hours a day and takes approximately 12 minutes to cross. Tolls are collected only when leaving the Island. AIRThe regional affiliate of Air Canada offers up to six daily flights from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Air Canada has daily non-stop service from Toronto and low-cost Air Canada carrier Tango flies direct from Toronto on a seasonal basis. Air Canada Jazz provides daily direct service from Montréal during the summer season.
SEANorthumberland Ferries depart from Caribou, Nova Scotia and Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island, on a schedule of about every hour and a half, offering a pleasant respite. The 75-minute trip, spent enjoying a chat and a snack, lounging on the deck and soaking up the sunshine and sea air and even some traditional "music on deck," is often considered a vacation highlight. Wood Islands is the gateway community to scenic and lively eastern Prince Edward Island. The fare for the ferry is paid only when leaving the Island. Up-to-the-minute schedule information is available by telephoning, toll-free, 1-888-249-SAIL. The ferry does not operate from the end of December until early May.
OTHER MEANSBy Rail
Both VIA Rail and Amtrak (via Montréal) offer services which connect to Moncton, New Brunwsick with connecting bus service to many locations on Prince Edward Island.
